Causative-Emotive Analysis: The Study of Youtube Viewers Reactions to Propaganda

Annotation

The emotionality of political discourse, and the attributing of emotional states, and their causes, in particular, are examined. The research was carried out using TITANIS, the described in part 1 of the paper, an automatic text analysis tool created at the Federal Research Center Computer Science and Control of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FRC CSC RAS). The emotionality of viewers of political and non-political Russian-language YouTube channels, as well as of audience of conservative and liberal influencers, was compared. Comments on politicized channels were analyzed in order to identify a causation of the mentioned emotional states.
