This article presents a method for technological trajectories detection based on text mining. Unmanned car technology was chosen as an example. Russian popular-science journals were used as sources of information. We considered more than 3,4k papers from 1933 to 2018. Also, the databases of patent docu-ments USPTO and FIPS were used for research. As a result of the research, we concluded that the problem of technological trajectories detection can be solved using text mining methods. The proposed method allows identifying the main stages of development of this technology. The result showed that technological trajecto-ries can be analyzed with the innovation diffusion framework.
