From 16 to 19 May a traditional — this time 11th — International Conference on Integrated Models and Soft Computing in Artificial Intelligence (IMSC-2022) took place in Kolomna, Moscow Oblast of Russia. Among the organizers was the Federal Research Center "Computer Science and Control" of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
One of the co-chairmen, Boris Kobrinsky, who also serves as the head of the 75 department of the Russian Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, opened the conference with the plenary talk Integrated and Hybrid AI Systems: Methodological Problems and Terminology Questions (link) where he reviewed unification and typification of the processes of ontological models in intelligent systems, their integration with information systems, integration of methods and technologies in AI, as well as interpretability and explainability of AI systems.
Over 60 works were presented at the conference in one of the eight sections:
Section 1 "Fuzzy models, soft measurement and computing"
Section 2 "Machine learning, neural network technologies"
Section 3 "Bionic approaches, evolutionary computation, genetic algorithms"
Section 4 "Knowledge engineering and ontologies"
Section 5 "Cognitive models in artificial intelligence"
Section 6 "Hybrid intelligent systems"
Section 7 "Intelligent agents, robots and collective robotics"
Section 8 "Smart manufacturing, intelligent product lifecycle management"
The head of the 73 Department of RAIRI Dmitry Devyatkin was a speaker at Section 2. In his research paper Building Random Forests of Decision Trees By Applying Core Splits (link) he suggested a method of core splits learning through optimisation of the loss function of SVM. The head of the 71 Department of RAIRI Aleksandr Panov led Section 7 where he also presented his new research on hierarchical reinforcement learning (link).
These and other papers will enter the eLIBRARY database, while the expanded versions of the best works will be published by a number of science journals. All of them are currently available in Russian in the proceeding of the conference in two volumes.
